1. Fill a large pot about halfway with water and bring to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, drop corn into the pot.
2. Cover the pot and let the water return to a boil. When it is boiling again, turn off the burner and keep the pot covered.
3. Let simmer for about 5 to 8 minutes, then remove corn from the pot.
