Our Family Chili con Carne


  • 1 lb. beef stew meat, cut into chunks
  • 2 large Our Family® Yellow Onions, chopped
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp Our Family® Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Our Family® Salt
  • 1 tsp Our Family® Ground Cumin
  • ½ tsp Our Family® Oregano

  • ½ tsp Our Family® Cayenne Pepper

  • 1 14.5 oz. can Our Family® Diced Tomatoes, not drained
  • 1 14.5 oz. can Our Family® Petite Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies, not drained
  • 1 box Our Family® Elbow Macaroni
  • 2 cups Our Family® Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • Our Family® Sour Cream
  • fresh cilantro


  1. In 3-quart saucepan, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium-high heat about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is cooked through.
  2. Add spices and tomatoes. Cover and cook on medium low, stirring frequently.
  3. While chili is cooking, prepare elbow macaroni according to directions on box. Strain in a colander, lightly coat with cooking oil and set aside.
  4. After chili has been cooking for about an hour, add the cooked macaroni to the pot. Reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired thickness. Alternatively, you can pour the cooked chili over the cooked Our Family Cauliflower Elbow Pasta.
  5. Serve with Our Family Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Our Family Sour Cream and fresh cilantro.
